JUST BURGERS AND SUNRISE TACOS EACH WIN A GAME IN SOFTBALL
Sunday August 12th saw 19 players come out to the best softball field in Asia at the Thai Polo Club for the weekly Pattaya Sports Club Softball games. This week’s game featured a much needed component that had been missing from our game for a long time, an umpire! A very big thank you goes out to Brian “T Rex” Gavagan who volunteered to umpire for the next few months while he sits out with an injury. He did an outstanding job in his debut appearance behind the plate.
Our two super seniors were the stars of the day, George King of the Sunrise Tacos team played rock solid first base and hit a ball over the outfielder’s head. George “Chicka” Smith a super senior on the Just Burgers team batted supremely well in his first softball game in his life. Players and fans were treated to a Chicka’s signature celebratory moonwalk dance each time he reached base safely, which I must say was a sight to behold.

The chance of being able to see that again will be enough to bring me back next week. These two guys are both working on their 8th decade but approach the game with more enthusiasm and smiles than any other player on the field. I must add they were both using the same cool amber beverage to lubricate their joints. Sunrise Tacos prevailed over Just Burgers in the first game 12-8. The commissioner called in and requested a livelier ball in the second game, which allowed some bigger hits and more runs. Home runs by Tyler Best and first time player Alex T. allowed Just Burgers to eke out a 16-13 win over Sunrise Tacos.
No sooner did the game end than the weather turned wet, many of the guys used this as an excuse to stop on the way home to wait out the rain, quench their thirst and make friends with the locals. More than one even had to wait so long they felt it necessary, for a nominal extra charge, to wait in relaxed comfort in one of the rooms upstairs.

JUST BURGERS TAKES 2 OUT 3 OVER SUNRISE TACOS IN SOFTBALL
Sunday August 5th 25 players come out to the best softball field in Asia at the Thai Polo Club for the weekly Pattaya Sports Club games. Dan from Bangkok came down and led the Sunrise Tacos team to 15-8 win in the first game. They scored 8 in the 2nd inning and Just Burgers never got close after that. Shawn Marcoon stole a home run from Rodney Thomas with an outstanding catch leaning over the outfield fence. New player Martin Gansborg who had been studying the correct batting form all week blopped about 5 balls about 20 feet past 3rd base, they landed so close together next week we are thinking we will place a five gallon bucket out there to catch the balls.
In the second game Adam Sowell, who actually still plays professional minor league baseball, blasted 2 home runs for Just Burgers. Bruce Deeter and Rickey Roberts also had some solid hits and fine defensive plays as well. Sunrise Tacos 3rd baseman Ben Reiber finally got on the home run leader board with a ball over the left field fence, but it wasn’t enough as Just Burgers took game two 15-12.
Laughing Rick Harris showed his outstanding hitting skills in the third game, going 5 for 5 at the plate. Late in the game Andy Emory had an inside the park home run to right field which scored 3 runs, which gave Just Burgers the win 11-5 in game three. There were laughs and smiles all afternoon with a few more smiles after the game as some of the guys stopped on the way home to quench their thirst and lighten their wallets while make new friends with the locals.

Dusit Zoo in located in Khao Din in Bangkok, Thailand. Most taxi drivers will know how to get there if you ask for it directly. They open at 8am and close at 6pm when it starts to get dark. It is 100 baht for a foreigner, 50 baht for a child, and 75 baht for Thai residents.

They have hundreds of animals of all types with close up views through glass and some habitats have walk ways for above views. They also offer an elephant and seal show that runs at different times throughout the day.
One of Dusit Zoo’s most unique attractions is the very Rare Albino Barking Deer.
Only 2 exist in the entire one. Ironically a type of common barking deer, the albino breed was born in Dusik Zoo and is only a few years old. It gets startled for a second when it notices it is being film but quickly goes back to it’s business.

It is simply amazing just what snakes can swallow. Most snakes can eat animals up to 1/4 of their size! Not even Americans can eat that much. Here are two awesome snake videos of some really large pythons that ate some pretty big animals. The first is a reticulated python and the second is a albino Burmese python.

This video was filmed in Thailand within the city limits of Bangkok. It is a reticulated python measured at about 20 feet. These snakes are among the largest and biggest snakes in the world. The green anacondas have the record the world’s heaviest snake while the reticulated pythons are the world’s longest snakes giving you the two world’s biggest snakes.

This rather large Burmese python was also found in the streets of Thailand. It was moving around very slow and looking sick when someone decided to record the video of the albino snake. He couldn’t handle the two animals he ate as he vomits them out. It’s very hard to tell what they were exactly but comments seem to be pointing toward a giant rat and a dog which could have easily been swallowed by the python.

A huge snake is found dead in the road after being ran over by a semi truck. The snake was identified as a green anaconda and was pregnant. Green Anacondas are the biggest snakes in the entire world and are one of the few snakes the give live birth to their young.
