The Worlds biggest shark was captured by a photographer off the coast of Cancun. He was assisting Wild Aid with some whale shark photos in a project to help save the sharks from the break of extinction. While snapping photos, this one particular shot captured what appears to be the biggest shark ever seen alive. A giant shark indeed!

This shark is just massive. Estimated at over 50 feet long you can see how gigantic it is next to this big 32 foot boat. Since most whales are considered mammals and sharks are classified as fish, this shark also goes down as the world record for the biggest fish on the planet.

It truly is sad how these whale sharks are being hunted and killed just for their fins and overall there are an estimated 73 million sharks that are killed each year.
