Girl catches record breaking catfish

A 20 year old girl in the UK hooked a 7 foot long record breaking catfish which outweighed her on the scale at a massive 120 pounds. This officially becomes the biggest freshwater fish ever caught by a female in the United Kingdom. The previous record was just under 70 pounds.

While fishing with her boyfriend, Lee Pollard who is an excellent angler, Kirstin Hole wasn’t able to reel in the fish all alone. With the help of her boyfriend Lee they were able to get the beast out of the water which was a battle in itself.

The catfish was so big that they couldn’t use their normal scale which maxed out at 6 feet in length. Another fisherman that was close by was able to lend them a hand. They used his scale and got the official measurements of the massive freshwater fish.

Worlds Largest Shark Video

This shark is just massive. Estimated at over 50 feet long you can see how gigantic it is next to this big 32 foot boat. Since most whales are considered mammals and sharks are classified as fish, this shark also goes down as the world record for the biggest fish on the planet.

It truly is sad how these whale sharks are being hunted and killed just for their fins and overall there are an estimated 73 million sharks that are killed each year.

A huge bull shark suddenly jumps out of the water snagging a 20 year old girl’s red drum as she tries to reel it up to the dock. Caught on camera, the fiance films the entire thing on video. This happened in the backyard of the families home in North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.

Bull sharks are known to swim into inlets and fresh water rivers and can be very aggressive like this one. The original full length bull shark video is below.

Everyone seems to be hating on the young couple for freaking out and using foul words after getting surprised by the big shark… it was kind of funny but I don’t blame them, I think most people would have reacted the same way being that close to a jumping shark.

How to Scuba Dive

How to Scuba Dive

Scuba diving can be a lot of fun, but also dangerous. Here are a few things to know about scuba diving.  Have a good night’s sleep and be well rested before you dive. Make sure you have a light breakfast and do not drink alcohol before diving.  Be sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water.  Never fly 24  hours after diving.

What to know about decompression?

When diving, divers breathe compressed air.  This is ambient air pressed into a tank by a special compressor.  An amount of nitrogen is then dissolved in the body by the pressure of all of the water the diver is under. Bubbles are formed in the body from the nitrogen as the diver ascends and the pressure decreases.

Its like a can of coke being shaken up. If you wait a while, you can open the can without any problems, however if its open too quickly, then you have a mess on your hands. A diver must come up slowly to be safe making occasional “compression stops” to avoid any problems.

Is diving recommended for everyone?

No, there are certain people that should avoid diving.

  • People with respiratory problems.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Epilepsy.
  • Pregnant women.
