Avoid direct sunlight! Babies should, however, have exposure to early morning sunlight for about ten minutes a day to help the development of strong, healthy bones.
Once they reach six months old, apply a children’s sunscreen every day. Continue this as they grow up using a cream that protects against both UVA and UVB rays, with an SPF of 15 or higher. The sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes prior to exposure, and re-applied every two hours.
As puberty kicks in and skin types start changing, it is important to adapt skincare regimes appropriately but at least your kids will be in the habit of looking after number one – their body’s single biggest organ!
