The Song Itself – But I Cannot Lose You
This song is written well, the lyrics are good and the hook is decent, just not as catchy as most pop songs. “But I Cannot Lose You” is repeated several times, however I wouldn’t say that it really sticks in your head after listening to it a few times compared to most main stream songs that seem to build up to their hook and really put it out there. This hook just seems to flow with the rest of the song and maybe that’s what the artist is going for.
The beat of the song is good, it flows well and I can see it being something that people would dance to in a club with maybe a specific club-mix in the future.
The Artist’s Performance – Chris Slanton
The song is about how a man cannot lose someone and how he will prove to them that they are the best thing in his life. However, the artist’s performance isn’t very believable. He seems very calm as he sings about someone he cannot lose and there is nothing in his emotions or in the video that shows the “person” or the audience that he really cares or that he is doing anything about it.
The Video Itself
The production quality of the video is very professional. You can tell a lot of work was put into it by someone that knows what they are doing. It keeps your attention as you are taken through different scenes that are well shot with flashy, unique and interesting views.
