How to Scuba Dive

Scuba diving can be a lot of fun, but also dangerous. Here are a few things to know about scuba diving. Have a good night’s sleep and be well rested before you dive. Make sure you have a light breakfast and do not drink alcohol before diving. Be sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. Never fly 24 hours after diving.
What to know about decompression?
When diving, divers breathe compressed air. This is ambient air pressed into a tank by a special compressor. An amount of nitrogen is then dissolved in the body by the pressure of all of the water the diver is under. Bubbles are formed in the body from the nitrogen as the diver ascends and the pressure decreases.
Its like a can of coke being shaken up. If you wait a while, you can open the can without any problems, however if its open too quickly, then you have a mess on your hands. A diver must come up slowly to be safe making occasional “compression stops” to avoid any problems.
Is diving recommended for everyone?
